Ultimate Board Game Collection to UK Gamers

Following its success in American households, the Ultimate Board Game Collection for game consoles will be making its way to Europe on the 2^nd of May, 2008 by Empire Interactive's Xplosiv. Including 20 classic games such as backgammon, checkers, chess, Parcheesi, Naval Battle, and more, the collection of tabletop and board games is compatible for Wii, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable and suitable for all ages. 

The Ultimate Board Game Collection, that bunches together a group of favorite board games and tabletop games for game consoles such as Wii, PS2 and PSP, has gained huge popularity amongst American gamers. The series is published in the US by Valcon Games will be delivered to Europe by Empire Interactive of Silverstar Holdings, which hopes to reproduce its North American success in the UK and other European countries.

The UK-based interactive games software publisher Empire Interactive has signed a distribution agreement with Valcon Games the American publisher of the Ultimate Board Game Collection at the end of 2007. The successful series of board games is the UK company's first Wii release. According to Empire Interactive's CEO, Ian Higgins, "…the Wii console in particular provides the perfect demographic for our first launch on this platform. The enthusiastic initial response by the European retail channel demonstrates the popularity of the game as well as the new Wii format."

The Ultimate Board Game Collection includes 20 of the most popular board games suited for Wii and PlayStation consoles. Backgammon, Reversi, Chess, Quatro, Checkers, Dominoes, Go, Mahjong Solitaire, and 100-pictures Jigsaws are among the games. All the games' rules, environments and soundtracks can be customized.
