Midwest Backgammon Championships

23 - 25 March 2007, Illinois, USA.

Midwest Backgammon Championships will take place on March 23rd at Wyndham Lisle hotel (Lisle, illinois, USA). the events will last 3 days including a variety of backgammon tournaments such Nackgammon tournament, blitz games, a sweet tourney for kids (for the prize of I-Pod) and, of course, the midwest backgammon championship itself.

Backgammon Events on Friday, March 23:

3:15 p.m.  NACKGAMMON tournament. 2-POINT QUICKIES commence and continue throughout the weekend. Trophy events.

5:00 p.m.   6th BATTLE OF THE SEXES tournament. Trophy event.

5:00 p.m.   GRAND CRYSTAL BEAVER IX $350 qualifying round (if necessary).

6:00-10:00 p.m.   JOLLY ROGER BEANBAG TOSS qualifying. Free to main tournament entrants.

7:00 p.m.   GRAND CRYSTAL BEAVER IX. First two rounds. Trophy event.

7:30 p.m.   MIDWEST DOUBLES OPEN & INTERMEDIATE registration closes. Play begins following public draw. No reentries. Trophy events.

9:00 p.m.  GOLD DOUBLOON BLITZ qualifying begins. Trophy event.

Backgammon Events on Saturday, March 24

9:00 a.m.   GRAND CRYSTAL BEAVER IX semifinal round.

9:30-10:30 a.m.   Final Main Tournament registration: Ballroom.

11:00 a.m.   CHARITY CALCUTTA AUCTION -- Championship and Advanced divisions: Symposium Theatre. Peter Kalba, Auctioneer. 10% of the proceeds benefit The Anti-Cruelty Society of Chicago.

MAIN & CHILDREN'S TOURNEY play commences following a public draw at the conclusion of the auction: all divisions.

2:30-5:10 p.m.   PIG-ROLLING and POP-UP PIRATE qualifying. Free entry to main tournament entrants.

5:15-7:30 p.m.   Scheduled dinner break.

7:30 p.m.   Play resumes: all divisions. QUICKIES continue. DOUBLOON BLITZ qualifying continues for players with two losses in the Main tournament and not alive in the Doubles event or Grand Crystal Beaver IX.

Backgammon events on Sunday, March 25:

11:00 a.m.   Play continues in CONSOLATION flight: all divisions. "TAKI TREASURE TOURNEY" playoffs (for the eight high skull dice rollers on Saturday and the eight lucky charity card-pulling winners). Winner receives the TAKI-RETRO BAKELITE backgammon set.

12:00 noon   LAST CHANCE commences: all divisions. MAIN FLIGHT final rounds.

12:30 p.m.   Final DOUBLOON BLITZ qualifying (if 16 Blitzes have not been filled). DOUBLES and QUICKIE final rounds. JACKPOTS on demand.

2:00 p.m.   GRAND CRYSTAL BEAVER IX finals.

2:30 p.m.   GOLD DOUBLOON BLITZ playoffs.

3:00 p.m.   2007 MIDWEST BACKGAMMON CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH.
