Mexican Government legalizes Online Backgammon

The Government of Mexico had announced last week its intentions to legalize online gaming including online backgammon in its jurisdiction.

According to the announcement, online gaming companies will be able to operate their business from Mexico as long as they would meet the Mexican Government regulations.

The Federal Law of Games and Draws in Mexico has new set of rules regarding offline and online gaming in the country. In addition to the legalization of online gaming in Mexico, the government has contracted permissions for about 300 new bingo halls throughout the country.

The first online gaming company that has made its new home in Mexico is Backgammon Masters, which operates an online backgammon room of the same name. Backgammon Masters Director of Operations promises, in an interview to Interactive Gaming News, that Mexico is the first Latin America country on the company crusade.
