Backgammon in the UK MediaBackgammon is not often mentioned in the UK media. Understanding that backgammon is far less popular than soccer or snooker, for example, UK backgammon fanatics find their alternative channels. BIBA and Backgammon in London are two notable examples and this humble blog aims to be one two.
Yet, most recently, Time Out London, introduced the loveable game to its obviously non-backgammon players readers, explaining backgammon fundamentals in such a detailed manner that even the slow minded would need no further guidance and proclaiming the ancient skill vs. luck debate in one definitive line: "In the short term, a novice may beat an expert, but in the long-run, the expert will always win."
And another wondering about the way the British media envisions backgammon: why do the NME expects a band from St. Alabns to sing about backgammon rules while wearing straw boaters?
