Backgammon Champ at 10

Lyle Rubin is the youngest pro backgammon player in the world. After gaining two kids backgammon championships, the ten years old of Skokie is currently making his first steps among the crowd of professional backgammon players, most of them with over 20 years experience in backgammon tournaments.

Lyle Rubin, 10, was the youngest attendee at the Illinois State Backgammon Championship, which took place on Sunday October 21, 2007 at the Holiday Inn City Centre in Downtown Peoria. However, no need to wordy about the kid's absence of parental surveillance, since both of lil' Lyle took part in the Illinois State event.

Along with the Midwest Championships in Chicago, the Illinois State Backgammon Championship is the most important backgammon event in the area. This year, the tourney drew more about 100 players from all over the States, including young Lyle Rubin, who played the novice division, and both of his parents, who competed in higher-level divisions.
